A Guide to…

New York City

Welcome to Crown Creative’s tour of New York City. We're spending the day visiting NYC spots that are doing Gen Z hospitality well — bathhouses, listening rooms, brand cafés, host-culture shops and a few queue-worthy food spots. This site is your guide to some of the best new concepts in NYC in food, beverage, wellness and more. Enjoy!

Consumers are changing…

Gen Z — now over $7tn in global spending influence — is rewriting what hospitality means. They are looking for spaces that prove their values, restore their attention, and let them gather without going 'out out': communal and alcohol-optional, tactile and phone-light, transparent on sustainability, and built around moments worth queueing for.

The goal is to come away inspired from our NYC tour with ideas for the next big brief: design and service moves we can borrow, beverage and menu ideas worth piloting, and a shared list of references the whole team can point to in the next strategy session.

We've curated a list below so the team can go and experience how the leading brands are already connecting with this audience.

Four trends to infuse

  • Wellness is the new nightlife

60% report feeling lonely (Cigna, 2025).

Social wellness clubs are replacing bars. Design the alcohol-optional, restorative, communal room.

  • Sustainability is the baseline

73% prioritise transparency; 60% quit on broken trust (First Insight).

Provenance, refill and circularity earn loyalty. Receipts beat marketing — fast.

  • The host economy beats clubs

72% of younger consumers prefer a night in over going out (YPulse, 2026).

The status move is the dinner party. Be the place that hosts beautifully — themed, curated, plug-and-play.

  • Attention: analog and listening

The analog economy is now a $5bn+ opportunity (Fortune, 2026).

Vinyl listening bars, backgammon cafes, dumbphones — Gen Z is buying its attention back. Design phone-light, listening-led moments.
